Mai Chau is a peaceful valley located about 140 km from Hanoi, renowned for its lush rice paddies, limestone mountains, and traditional stilt houses of the White Thai people. A highlight of the region is Nhim Cave, famous for its impressive rock formations, beautiful natural surroundings, and cultural significance.

Pu Luong Nature Reserve offers a memorable 2-day, 1-night adventure through terraced rice fields and traditional villages. Meet local families, discover their daily life and crafts, enjoy lunch on a boat, swim in the clear waters of Cham Stream during a bamboo rafting trip, observe farming activities in Chieng Lau Village, and visit the iconic waterwheels for an authentic rural experience.

What to expect 4-day itinerary

1 Day 1 Ha Noi/ Ninh Binh - Mai Chau Valley– Pu Luong Nature Reserve (L,D).

06:45 AM – 07:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter to begin the trip to Mai Chau Valley.

12:00 PM – 17:00 PM: Arrive in Mai Chau, the capital of the White Thai people. Savor a local specialty lunch inside a traditional stilt house. Embark on a guided Cycling tour through narrow alleys, lush rice paddies, and local brocade workshops. Hike up to Nhim Cave to absorb stunning views of the valley floor.

17:00 PM – 18:30 PM: Board the bus to Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Check into your accommodation, enjoy a relaxing dinner, and unwind.

2 Day 2 Pu Luong -Lan Village-Silk-Weaving- Rafting – Ninh Binh.

08:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Depart your lodge to visit Lan Village. Learn the traditional process of silk-weaving from local artisans and try weaving your own textile. Continue to Chieng Lau Village to witness historic, active wooden waterwheels.

10:00 AM – 13:00 PM: Take a 1–2 km trek to Cham Stream. Board a bamboo raft for a scenic river cruise past local farms and forests, while enjoying a unique floating lunch directly on the raft.

13:00 – 13:30: Say goodbye to Pu Luong and depart for Ninh Binh.

17:00: Arrive at the Ninh Binh lodge, check-in, enjoy free time by the pool, and have dinner.

3 Day 3 Ninh Binh - Hoa Lu - Mua Cave - Trang An.

08:00 – 08:30: Pick-up by the tour guide to start the day.

08:30 – 15:30: Full-day consolidated sightseeing: visit Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, hike nearly 500 steps up Mua Cave (Lying Dragon Mountain), enjoy a local cuisine lunch at a restaurant, and take a 2-hour UNESCO Trang An boat tour.

16:00 PM: Returning to your lodge in Ninh Binh by 4:30 PM.

5 Day 5 Sung Sot Cave – Titop Island – Kayaking at Luon Cave.

07:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Pick up from your Ninh Binh accommodation for a 4-hour transfer to Tuan Chau Harbor.

11:45 AM – 14:00 PM: Board a Luxury Cruise with a warm welcome drink and enjoy an authentic Vietnamese lunch while sailing past spectacular limestone karsts.

14:00 PM – 16:30 PM: Disembark at Bo Hon Island to explore the vast chambers of Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Cave). Kayak or take a bamboo rowing boat through Luon Cave's quiet lagoon, followed by swimming or trekking to the peak of Titop Island.

16:30 PM – 21:00 PM: Return to the cruise boat for an onboard sunset party (wine, tea, fruits, biscuits). Arrive at the harbor around 18:00, board the bus back to Hanoi, and drop off at your hotel by 21:00.
